Id say 50% of autcions are bogus and like 85% when it comes to autographs. The reason he looked good here is because it was right after Aloha when he looked fabulous for the TV cameras. As for the remaining 11 months of 1973, he did not.

The "Viva Las Vegas" jacket and pants ARE made of different material. Take a close look at the movie, and you can tell. I have no Idea on the authenticity of this auction, but the red shirt for this suit is on display at Graceland.

I was at the auction at the Planet Hollywood here in Las Vegas on Saturday. This suit sold for $29,000 and not a penny more. The amount reported must include the "buyer's premium". Usually auction results are reported without the addition of the auctioneer's fees. In addition, the reason why I did not participate in the bidding was mostly my strong doubts regarding authenticity. The consignor of this item has a "mixed" reputation and the Sy Devore labels have been duplicated in the past. Also the suit looks brand new, almost as if it was made only a week ago. Furthermore it also struck me that the jacket and pants were made from different materials. Very strange ... at least in my opinion. But regardless it COULD be the real one. Who knows ??? If it is, this was a steal at $29,000 !!! My congratulations to the new owner, despite all my doubts.

That's a bargain I reckon. Pity I haven't got two pennies to scratch my arse with.
