'The Joan Deary Tapes' is just a gimmicky marketing ploy to get you to buy the same songs over again (and again) which Elvis fans obviously enjoy doing.

Ronald, thanks for the info. I was kind of hoping that this collection was something unique, but dynamic sound isn't enough for me to buy these songs again. I can achieve close to the same thing with the equalizer in my stereo. RonBaker, just about every Jewel Case creator software has a bar code option. I create alternative artwork at home, bar code included. It's not a symbol of an official release.

Ofcourse it is personal, but comparing the songs Reconsider Baby & I'll Remember You from The Essential 70's Masters; Walk A Mile In My Shoes with the same recordings on An Afternoon in The Garden just shows the difference in sound. To my ears the Deary remixes are much more dynamic.

Interesting...this isn't a collection of out-of-copyright recordings and it's not on did it get a bar-code. Unless the recordings are licensed that makes it a bootleg, doesn't it?

Recently I've hear that cdr that appear on the net. The sound is so clear as your most beautiful dreaming desires. Many millions better that the more or less dry sound we always have with Sony-Bmg and FTD. If it's only the resultate of program equalizer...why not official releases sound the same or better? Well, two options: 1.- Not computer tricks. Only better sources. or... 2.- We are treated for the most INCOMPETENT sound engineers and executive people in the music story. Jorgensen being the first of them. Many things well done but many important things so bad done... absolutely sad. His clock has stopped. Maybe it's time to retire, Ernst? Thank-you Joan Deary . The best!

Going by soime of the comments here, some people are easily pleased.

So that means we can make our own copies using a program that allows us to change frequency equalization (like Adobe Audition or maybe Audacity)?

What is that "special bonus feature"?

Lefty, There's nothing new on this release, i have the earlier released cdr version. The only thing is that every track sounds crisp and clear. Very bright sound but all the regular overdubbed versions. No outtakes.

What makes the Joan Deary tapes unique? Are these previously unreleased versions? Remastered? Overdubbed? I already have every single track on various BMG CD's, so I'm curious as to what sets this CD apart from the official product. I think the artwork is outstanding!

Absolutely a master piece! Millions better that any FTD or Sony release!
