I picked up the latest copy of Billboard and I couldnt even find this chart. its not even listed in the index of charts. Nice but basically meaningless.

I'm not sure what John's sarcasm is about with the chart. For the record (in spite of how Billboard has tried to re-write history as if it was the only chart) Cashbox (the original) was a legitmate chart and had "Burning Love" as a number one song back in '72, for example. It was re-incarnated after many years gone a few years ago and so far appears legitimate, even though it may never regain the status it had went record sales actually meant something.

Are there any Soundscan figures for this release? Amazon has it listed as 1421 (or something like that) in popularity. How can it be #1 if it isn't selling????

Glad to see that Elvis is still current in the christian music scene, he certainly did alot for it. The upgrade in sound must have been a factor in the success.

When you take into account that Elvis has been dead for more than 30 years and that this is the 3rd major compilation of this material in the last 8-10 years or so (not to mention the 3 original gospel albums were re=released last year), this set's placement on the inspirational album chart IS impressive. It's likely to have a long run on that chart. All the while selling slowly but steadily and costing Sony almost nothing in promotion costs.

There is no competition on this type of chart, so in a way it is pointless, although nice to # 1 I guess. I couldnt name 1 other artist or album that may be on this chart.

it's not pointless, and elvis was a christian in heart and soul, so this chart is impressive

What sort of chart is this??!! Pointless. The clue is to where the set has charted in the top inspirational albums - not so impressive.
