Aloha From Hawaii And 68 Comeback DVD's

It seems that we will have to wait a bit longer for these two DVDs. The new street dates for these two DVDs is now June 22, 2004. The DVD "Elvis Lives"with 40 minutes extras is scheduled for January 13, 2004, and the DVD "The Ultimate Gospel" will be in stores on March 23, 2004.

Does anyone know if the picture and sound quality will be improved with the new release? I have both 68 and Aloha and am dissapointed in the picture quality. The Special Edition of That's the Way It Is is awesome. Are the new releases going to be as good?

I can understand people being disappointed in the 68 Comeback and 73 Aloha dvd's being put on hold for some time, but I believe when EPE decides to release these awesome shows it will be worth the wait to see what we the Elvis fans can finally see. When these dvd's become available in the new format with never before seen footage even if it is next year I will be shopping the day it is released.

Yes, especially as those very whiners will end up buying it anyway, if only to complain more specifically...

I think people should stop whining and look at their current collection which is fantastic also thanks to EPE. I also think that EPE provides excelent service. The DVD's will be worth the wait. They don't have to release anything, they could just reissue the old ones and make just as much money.

These DVD's will be worth the wait. I also hope EPE is developing plans for the "ultimate" Elvis biography/ anthology DVD set. Keep up the good work EPE!

hahaha, why am I NOT surprised at this news? I'm sick of waiting for these new DVD's and frankly since they've kept putting them back more and more I've lost interest in them!

Well, EPE is playing with our nerves!! First aloha & 68 come back should have been released a year ago, then for Xmas 2003. Later they said in the early next year!
If june is the early next year for them, they should go back in school and learn that june is six months later.
Well I bet that they're going to delay them one more time and annonce that it should be available for Xmas 2004! I'm sic of waiting for them, and from now on I'm not waiting for them any longer!! Too much is too much!

The release date for the '68 and Aloha comprehensive DVDs has not been locked in yet, nor has it been announced. Yes, June 22nd is among the likely dates talked about internally among the EPE and BMG staff as we look at all we have going on. It's too bad someone decided to leak that still-speculative information. But, if that date does indeed turn out to be the one, then it does not represent a delay of any kind. In our FAQ on Elvis.com we have projected that DVDs will come out sometime in the first half of 2004. Actually, we have never announced a specific date - only our very best guess or hope as things have evolved.
As we have promised over and over and over again in news articles on our site and in our FAQ (a subsection on NEWS and ALL ABOUT ELVIS sections of our site), whenever there are new details we can share, we will immediately update the FAQ, post an item in News and issue an alert via our free E-newsletter service. No one is more excited about these DVDs than we are and no one is more anxious to see all the details made available. And, please, if you hear gossip about an EPE project, you're always invited to write to graceland@elvis.com and get the straight story.
In the meantime, our work on the material for these DVDs continues. We sneak-previewed some material in a screening for fans in Memphis during Elvis Week a couple of months ago. As now indicated in the Elvis Birthday Celebration info on Elvis.com, we will have special free screenings at Graceland in January to show you how things have progressed since then. We're too excited about how it's all turning out to wait until the DVD release to show it to you!

June 2004? I will believe it when I see them in the stores! What kind of stupid timing is January 13th 2004 for Elvis Lives? What about releasing it before X-Mas? Dumb BMG....And I am very curious about the Ultimate Gospel DVD. What is that? A repackaging of the He Touched Me DVD?? I wouldn't be surprised.
