$500 Million Offer For Graceland Rejected

December 01, 2004 | Other
Every now and then there are rumours that Graceland will be sold. In the latest Elvis World magazine it is mentioned that EPE turned down a rumoured $500 million offer from Harrah's Casino to buy Graceland. This rumour has been going the round for some time now. An insider told Bill Burke, "I would put its value at between $1 billion and $2 billion when you consider the land, the mansion, the fact Elvis is buried there, the jumpsuits, the archives, etc."

I am so mad to hear about that someone wants to buy Graceland! Don't you dare sell it! It belongs to many of Elvis' fans to help keep his memory alive! Elvis will roll in his grave if it was sold to someone. Do not ask 'Cilla or Lisa! It belongs to the fans to help with his career and after death! My heart also belongs there! I'm one of fans who have never been at Graceland and want to come out someday. I was 13 when he died and Elvis has been my love my whole life!

If someone were to buy Graceland they would probably kill the very soul of it. And we as Elvis fans can't allow that to happen. The Elvis immage shall and must live on forever. I've never been thewre myself, but thats because I'm from Norway, and I only 17 so as you can probably see it's kind of hard for me to get there. But someday I will see it all.

Graceland won't be sold anytime soon. I would imagine Lisa, her daughter and son Ben will be the main guardians 22 years from now, for the 50th anniv. However, who knows 50 years from now! If the State of Tenn takes over, they may neglect it. It is worth at least 1 billion dollars now, but lets hope the family gets some inside info from the family of Disney.. Maybe they will lend some valuable insight. With the right strategies in place Elvis can have his biggest years ahead, so let's see.
