You belong to my heart now and forever
We were there beneath the stars while a million guitars
Played our love song
When they said I love you
Every beat of my heart said it too

do you remember
Darling you'll hear that song
And you'll always belong to my heart
Recorded: 1956/12/04, first released on The Million Dollar Quartet

This is such a beautiful ballad, but Elvis should have recorded a full studio version of it instead. Elvis would have done an amazing job with this song had he done a proper version of it. So, I rated Elvis' very brief version of it just one star.

Is this the first time we hear Elvis sing in Spanish? The Crosby version is quite nice.

No way friends. It's not a country song, but a Mexican bolero song composed by the great Luís Aguilar and called "Solamente una vez". Translated into english, it became a number 4 hit for Crosby in 1945 and Dean Martin NEVER recorded it.

This song was originally a country song recorded by Sue Thompson and later picked up by Jo Stafford and Dino. I really like the song, all versions. What a good record it would have made for Elvis

Actually this song was a Bing Crosby song. Dean martin may have done a cover on it, but I haven't heard his version if he did.

Yes a Dino song. Elvis would have done a good job with this in the studio in the early 60's.

Wasn't it a Dean Martin song? So it makes a lot of sense that Presley played with it. He should've recorded a full version. He's voice was absolutely great for these types of songs. Could have been a massive hit in those days along with the softer early sixties songs as Are You Lonesome and Now Or Never...

"Solamente una vez... do you remember..." Short, but sweet ;)
