Well when the saints go marchin' in
Well when the saints go marchin in
Oh Lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marchin' in

When the sun refuse to shine
Well when the sun refuse to shine
Oh Lord I want to be in that number
When the sun refuse to shine

Well when the saints go marchin' in
Well when the saints go marchin in
Oh Lord I want to be in that number

I've always loved this old time, traditional and classic gospel hymn immensely and Elvis' December 4, 1956 performance of it was fabulous. The jazz song also titled "When The Saints Go Marchin' In" from Elvis' 1966 movie "Frankie And Johnny" is a marvelous song too and it's a totally different song written by completely different songwriters. I love both of these songs immensely. Five stars from me.

I have always found The Million Dollar Quartet recordings extremely interesting but taken as a musical listening delight, I have never been truly enamoured. A few numbers like the Private recordings raise the bar a little as does this particular track but all in all just a few musical legends enjoying themselves in a free for all..

This is the way it should be recorded, not like the Frankie & Johnny version.
