Words & Music: Jerry Leiber/ Mike Stoller
When I walk through that door
Baby be polite
You're gonna make me sore
If you don't greet me right
Don't you ever kiss me once, kiss me twice
Treat me nice

I know that you've been told
It's not fair to tease
So if you come on cold
I'm really gonna freeze
If you don't want me to be cold as ice
Treat me nice

Make me feel at home
If you really care
Scratch my back and run your pretty
Fingers through my hair

You know I'll be your slave
If you ask me to
But if you don't behave
I'll walk right out on you
If you want my love then take my advice
Treat me nice

Make me feel at home
If you really care
Scratch my back and run your pretty
Fingers through my hair

You know I'll be your slave
If you ask me to
But if you don't behave
I'll walk right out on you
If you want my love then take my advice
Treat me nice

If you really want my love then treat me nice

One of my favorite songs from the 50s. It got the lyrics, the sound, just everything that made Elvis so fantastic in this period of his career. This could have been another A-side and #1 hit. No doubt, five stars.

One of the best ever. Could have been a big A side also. Dont care too much for the outtakes. The arrangements were kind of hokey, but the movie version take is very good.

The fifties are full of fabulous songs. This is one of them. And after watching the movie it even thrilled me more. In the course of decades we were also treated on all the outtakes of the Jailhouse Rock movies. Well, Elvis treated us on such great songs that will for ever be engraved in my mind.

Another good movie song [couldn't say that too often in the mid 60's]. This songs reminds me of an article I read some time ago that stated that the orginal film title was to be 'Treat me Nice' Got me thinkin of other songs that could have been used as Elvis movie titles. Here's the pre army one's I came up with. Love me Tender [Poor Boy] Loving You [Lonesome Cowboy Jailhouse Rock [Treat me Nice] and King Creole [New Orleans].

Leiber and Stoller on top form with a legendary 1957 (black and white!) Elvis. Stuff of legend.
