Steppin' out of Line

Words & Music:
Wise/ Wiseman/ FullerListen, little lady,
You're steppin' out of line
What's your hurry baby,
You got a lot of time
That's not love you feel,
It's only make believe
Watch out, you'll break the heart
You're wearing on you sleeve
Cheating with your kisses
You think you know it all
Old worry gonna get you,
You're riding for a fall
Better slow it down,
I see a danger sign,
'Cause the way you're steppin' around
You're steppin' out of line

The intro is very close to the one on I'm a roustabout. A great rocking track with a superb sax solo and the famous Elvis ending.
Another strange song decision in the Elvis film career, as to why this was not included in Blue Hawaii full stop.
Perhaps it was a bit too much like ' Rock-A-Hula Baby'. but that could also apply to the ballads in similarity. As has been said a great number with a driving sax and Elvis giving it all he's got. -4 stars all the way.
Should've been left on the "Blue Hawaii" LP.
Not the greatest of songs, but a fabulaous sax solo (one of the best) and a gritty vocal by Elvis makes this a standout track on any LP.
I like this song a lot. Some years ago there was an import called The Elvis remixes, not new remixes, rather new mixes with the original track and alternate ones. Stepping out of line was there, and had almost 3 minutes long, and two solo breaks, one with Boot's saxophone, and another with Hank Garland's guitar. Just fantastic!
Not a fav of mine,I usually skip this track. One star !
A very underrated track recorded for, but not used on the "Blue Hawaii" soundtrack. This one is a real rocker that Elvis sings very well and it probably would not have fit with all the lush ballads and "beach rockers" that made up the soundtrack. This one has a bluesy, hard edged feel to it and it stands out as one of the best tunes on the "Pot Luck" LP.
