Shakin' up this here town tonight
Startin' tonight
Have a ball do it all startin' tonight

Grab your partner by the hand,
Spread a blanket on the sand
Three a.m. go for a swim
Clothes and all jump right in
Tonight, startin' tonight
Let out the stops, call the cops, it's all right

'Course when the cops have come and gone
You'll just keep carrying on
Don't you worry if you land in jail
We'll forward your mail if you can't make bail
Tonight, startin' tonight
Have a ball do it all startin' tonight
Anything goes, everything goes, startin' tonight
Startin' tonight.

I consider this song as good as C'mon everybody. I miss a mean solo by Scotty on this one and the unique rhytmn guitar playing by Elvis. Bob Moore does his job very well on the double bass.

A fair rocker done 60's film style that is far too short but performed well enough. I always add echo to the Girl Happy songs and find them vastly superior to the 'natural' sound.

Sing the song, advance the action, move on. That was the formula for the Elvis movie musical of the '60s. The song isn't anything special, but I like it. I LOVE the album.

I kinda like this song, short as it is, at least it doesn't wear out its welcome. I have actually heard a sort of "remix" of this--they made it sound more like a 1950s rocker, and it really improved the track greatly. (These lyrics are wrong. the opening lines are the names of well known colleges -- Michigan State, M.I.T., Vassar, Wells, Smith and Brown. Not sure what the heck "Comity" or "Wilbur Smith" is)

Another poor recording from another poor soundtrack as Elvis continues his mid-60's slide. Yes the LP made the top 10, but soon the public would wise up and send a message.

Could have been a decent rocker but poor production and short length ruin it for me. In fact the whole album sounds like it was recorded in a tin can.

Some lyric corrections: The first part of this song is Elvis calling out college names. It should read, Michigan St, MIT, Harvard University, Vasser, Wells, Smith and Brown.

I think it´s really boring, it´s just too short and it does nothing for me. Still, a pretty decent performance, I think Elvis sings it well. When I listened to it recently I noticed something that I never noticed before. The beginning of the song reminds me so much of Harem Holiday, the title song to Elvis´ desert film from 1965.

Another short track from the movie "Girl Happy". Better than "Wolf Call" and "Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce", but still one of the lesser tracks from the movie and soundtrack. This one is more of a "stand alone" song than the other two tracks mentioned and it isn't a bad little rock and roll number.
