Some folks tell you what to do
They think they know more than you
They insist that they're givin' sound advice
But as sure as you're livin'
It ain't sound, it ain't nice
It just doesn't sound like sound advice

Some folks like to be the boss
They get up on their high horse
Oh they say that you're gettin, sound advice
There one thing I'm bettin'
It ain't wise, it ain't nice
You won't like the sound of their advice

Sound advice we're given
Just as sure as your as you're livin'
If your smart you'll think twice
When they start to sound off with advice

Sound advice we're given
Just as sure as your as you're livin'
If your smart you'll think twice
When they start to sound off with advice
Don't listen to their sound advice

Not great by any means, but I can listen to it, which doesn't say much I admit.

An average song to which Elvis gives his all. Compared to the other songs in Follow That Dream this is a comedown but I guess quite entertaining in its own right - 3 stars.

I've always liked this song; as a matter of fact, I think the entire "Follow That Dream" soundtrack, although released on a 45EP back in the early 1960's, should have been released as a complete side 1 of a long playing album. There was enough out there where RCA could have come up with enough for the 2nd side. Not a bad flick either by the way.

I've always liked this song immensely and I totally agree with the advice that this song gives. I don't listen to advice from rude, arrogant and unfriendly people. This is a message song as far as I'm concerned and a very good one too.

I've always liked this song for what it is, a pleasant distraction. Surprised to think Elvis hated it so much he held back it's release for three years. Strange considering guff like Ito Eats had been recorded just months before and came out right away. I wish he'd put his foot down like that a bit more often in the sixties. We might have been spared from "Confidence" and most of the harum Scarum album. :S
