Smorgasbord

Rating:
3.4 / 5

Words & Music: Sid Tepper Roy C. Bennett

Some like their women short, some like them tall
I'll take them any size 'cause I love them all

I'm just wild about smorgasbord
I got a cravin' for smorgasbord
A little kiss here, a little kiss there
That's smorgasbord

Mmm
Some take just apple pie, some take just cake
I'll take the dish I please, please the dish I take

I'm just wild about smorgasbord
I got a cravin' for smorgasbord
A little kiss here, a little kiss there
That's smorgasbord

Mmm
Some like just southern belles, they got a one track mind
I go for all the belles except the wedding kind

I'm just wild about smorgasbord
I got a cravin' for smorgasbord
A little kiss here, a little kiss there
That's smorgasbord

Some like their women short, some like them tall
I'll take them any size 'cause I love them all, Mmm
Some take just apple pie, some take just cake
I'll take the dish I please, please the dish I take

Don't judge a book by it's cover and don't judge an Elvis movie song by it's title. This silly titled song from the "Spinout" soundtrack is actually a pretty good song performed with panache by Elvis.

This isn't anywhere near one of Elvis' very best movie songs, but I've always had the opinion that this is a fun song and a good one too. It's not a great song though. I actually like every song from the "Spinout" soundtrack album even though some of them aren't great songs.

Silly song, but great sax solo.

Yes this was much better than the title promised and is a good song from Spinout. Different and improved words would have made this even more memorable in film song folklore

The Mmmm tells me Elvis was into it. Who is screaming during Boots Randolph's sax solo? If that's Elvis, he really was into it. A pleasant song, the first they recorded on the Spinout sessions.

I saw the movie 4 times at the theater in its year of release. Loved it and the soundtrack. Got the soundtrack as a Christmas gift. Smorgasbord is fun song. I still play the Spinout sound track often.

A very weak song from a decent movie with a soundtrack that's overall not as bad as usual.

More movie garbage on the continuing slide of his career. Although this was one of the supposedly better soundtracks, I submit, better to what? 1-star.

This is actually a pretty well-written and well-performed song, if you can get past the silly title. If there was ever a worst song on the otherwise excellent soundtrack to Spinout, it would be "Beach Shack." 4.5/5 stars from me.
