San Antonio Rose

Rating:
1.7 / 5

Words & Music: Bob Wills

... remember alone in my heart
Call back my love of San Antonio
Just pretend like tales fall apart
Think once again of my love, my own
A few words not known .... my heart I belong...
I don't know... of my rose in San Antonio
Growing all this tender lala heart
Call back my love in San Antonio
It's so sweet and tender like peddles fall apart....
Rose in San Antonio... know my rose in San Antonio

(note: Sorry... but I couldn't make more of it)

This S-list should start with Sail Silvery Moon, that Elvis did in Waco Texas in May 1958. The strange thing about this recording is that you can hear a child or baby cry in the background. It was recorded at Eddie Fadal Residence.

It's not often you hear Elvis doing an uptempo song on piano. Could be a stellar song on the Country album.

This is such a fabulous song and Elvis should have recorded a proper studio version of it instead. I've never enjoyed listening to his lousy and incomplete home recorded performance of it.
