Miracle of the Rosary

Rating:
3.1 / 5

Words & Music: Lee Denson

Oh blessed mother we pray to thee
Thanks for the miracle of your rosary
Only you can hold back
Your holy son's hand
Long enough for the whole world to understand

Hail, Mary full of grace
The Lord is with thee
Blessed are thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus
Oh holy Mary dear mother of God
Please pray for us sinners
Now and at the hour of our death
And give thanks once again
For the miracle of your rosary

Always liked it. Too bad it was left off the recent gospel boxset. A glaring omission due to some politically correct B.S. Nice to know Elvis wasnt so narrow-minded.

one of my less played recordings by Elvis, sorry, i'll even skip the comments i have. that said i have ordered the 'Now' Cd.

I like it; but it did not belong on the LP "Elvis Now". They should have waited and included it on the "He Touched Me" LP. "Now" should have been a more folk oriented LP with songs such as "For Lovin Me" and "I'm Leavin". That said, Elvis' vocals are amazing on this one and I give the track 3 stars.

Just played the track as I have not heard it for some time, and yeah I really enjoyed it. The choir, the build up and Elvis in fine voice make for a very fine goepel offering -4 stars from me.

Elvis belonged to the First Assembly of God. According to June Juanico, both she & Elvis were catholic. This is certainly a catholic song. The alternate take 1 is without overdubbes & slightly better.

One of the few songs I cannot stand. I can't believe he actually recorded this crap. Each to his own I guess.

A bad album save for a couple of songs. This particular effort is pure over religious tripe.

I'm happy that in time we got cds as the skipping with Lps tend to damage the whole. I heard it once and that was already too much for me.

I love it and i love the album.Although it could have been even better. But that's history. And btw there were record players with a skip button, and a Lp won't damage that fast, i have records over 50 years old which sounds better than some 5 years old CD's.

Like this a lot, especially the version on the platinium box set. I remember getting the album, and thinking that it was very different from the Elvis music I had heard until then, but I really liked it, and I still do.

This is such a beautiful and underrated gospel song and Elvis easily has the very best rendition of it. It's a 5 Star song and a 5 Star performance too.

sugartummy wrote: "According to June Juanico, both she & Elvis were catholic." June Juanico was wrong... if she actually said that. Elvis was not Catholic. The First Assembly Of God Church that he attended was/is a Protestant church. "Miracle Of The Rosary" is not a "gospel" (in the true sense of the word) song... it's a Catholic song, and therefore would not have been appropriate on the He Touched Me album. Elvis recorded it as a favor for his longtime friend, the writer of the song, Lee Denson.

1-star. Overblown braggadocio song he never should have recorded. Sure didn't fit on that classic album "Elvis Now".

Beautiful song. Yes its bombastic and not cool for the masses but his vocals shows you how much he loved singing gospel.
