Just for old time sake
Won’t you give my heart a break
Let's get together again
Let's relive the time
I was yours and you were mine
Life was so wonderful then

I know, I know the day I let you go
I made my greatest mistake
If you loved me then
You could love me once again
Won't you try just for old time sake

this is one of those fine ballads done by the man with a mature voice, which is touching hearts forever. an outstanding performance, unfortunately often overshadowed by other numbers from that period.

By 1962, Elvis the King of Rock was definitely gone, Elvis the crooner was taking all the place ! Beautiful song for a crooner...but the Beatles and some new rock music were about to break out !

I don't like it very much... not bad at all, but nothing special. I preffer that 1973 song with a similar name: "For Ol' Times Sake."

Perhaps not the best track from Pot Luck but a decent enough song with shades of Dean Martin towards the end of it.Elvis voice was at its best around this time and therefore he could carry off the most mundane song.

pretty ballad; not te best song on Pot Luck but still a nice song. Elvis' voice was at his best in these years.

Decent ballad, nothing special. The whole LP was too mellow for me even at 11 years old.

i have nothing negative to say about this ballad. this ballad shows that Elvis could do everything with his voice. his voice sounds so incredible on this ballad.. one of my favorite songs. i dont think this song is mellow whtasoever, it is simply a awesome performance

Although I don't care for the song, it goes to show how well he could sing about anything. As much as he loved rock & roll, his goal was to become the consumate singer. And he did. A lot of rockers can rock but can't sing ballads. This particular song displays both his charm & genius at adapting to a song.

The second song on the LP "Pot Luck" and another step down. "Kiss Me Quick", a mediocre song lead off the LP and then comes this rather dull ballad. It just is not a very interesting or memorable track. 2 1/2 stars.

I guess I'm one of the few who likes the songs "Kiss Me Quick" and "Just for old times sake" from the "Pot Luck" album. On both songs, Elvis' sounds great. In the early 60s, Elvis, could sing anything, and do it well. His ballad voice had developed and he sang some great ballads (Are you Lonesome tonight, Can't help falling in love, among many) And, he still had the "edge" to his voice to sing "Rock-N-Roll" (LIttle Sister, I Feel so bad, His Latest Flame and more). Elvis could have sang the phone book and I would have enjoyed it.

"Just For Old Times Sake" 3 and a half stars. Pot Luck" 4 and a half stars. I deducted a half a star because they included "Steppin' Out Of Line" instead of any one of a number of better ballads they had in the can. Ballad heavy? Yes, but that's fine to my ears. Ballad Elvis is my fave Elvis.

Elvis is in fine voice not only for this catchy ballad but also the very enjoyable album.

Sounds like a run of the mill movie ballad to me(look at the wrtiers). Elvis was now more crooner than anything else. Even the uptempo songs had lost their edge. I'm afraid Lennon was right to some extent. That the pre-Army Elvis voice was gone and replaced by a mellow crooner who only rocked once in a while.

Beautiful delivery of a pretty boring ballad, one of my least favorite songs of the Pot Luck album but three stars nevertheless, which says something about the overall quality of the Pot Luck album. After this one, Elvis fans had to wait till the NBC TV Special for the next decent album. It must have been quite a wait!

Something about the tune reminds me of Old Shep but sung in a more mature and controlled voice. From one of my favourite albums, a definite 4 star performance all round.

Not a great track, but his singing is awesome.

I've always liked this ballad immensely and Elvis' rendition of it was marvelous. I rate this song and Elvis' rendition of it 5 Stars.

This is one of his better ballads as far as I'm concerned. I've liked this song from the day I bought the "Pot Luck" album back in 1962. There is absolutely no denying he was now a pop and ballad singer. His so-called rock songs back in 1962 came across as really lame and I'm inclined to go along with his ballad and mid tempo pop songs. To be blunt, in my mind, 1962 was the last of anything really decent as to Elvis Presley, unfortunately.

Pot Luck is a fine album imo! A liked it back then and I love the FTD. This is a fine little ballad, sung by Elvis' wonderful early sixties voice! No problem to me! I actually play this song a lot!

Pot Luck was my 2nd Elvis album, and I remember playing it over & over, liked the whole album, and still do today. 4 stars for both the song & album.
