Words & Music: Fred Rose/ Zeb Turner
It's a sin, my darling
How I love you
Because I know
Our love could never be

It's a sin
To keep this memory of you
When silence proves
That you've forgotten me

The dreams I built for us
Has tumbled
Each promise broken
Like my heart

It's a sin, my darling
How I love you
So much in love
And yet so far apart

I'm sure you're happy with another
Who shares the love I cannot win
Why pretend that I can live without you
When deep inside I know that it's a sin
Recorded: 1961/03/12, first released on Something for Everybody

Elvis sings this so beautiful. one of those diamonds of the early 60's.

Nice ballad but a little too 'soft' for me. Better than 'Gently' however.

Straight forward ballad that Elvis sings very sweetly from the LP "Something For Everybody". This one and "Gently" are the two worst tracks on the album, but both are far from bad. They are just a little dull compared to the other side A tracks such as "There's Always Me" and "Give Me The Right". 3 1/2 stars.
