The sandman comes to my house late each night
But it's way in the morning before he turns out my life
It's times like this my darling I can see
If I were you I'd know that I love me

The great snowman I've been called by all
But it looks like this time I'm gonna fall
It's times like this my darling I can see
Oooh If I were you I'd know that I love me

Wind and rain and storm closin' in on me
I've walked the streets alone with my self sympathy
Can you hear me saying hopefully
Oooh If I were you I'd know that I love me

Wind and rain and storm closin' in on me
I've walked the streets alone with my self sympathy
Can you hear me saying hopefully
If I were you I'd know that I love me
Oooh If I were you I'd know that I love me
If I were you I'd know that I love me

On A Hundred Years From Now he starts the song with The Yellow Rose Of Texas. I think the song is beautifully done by Presley. A real "lost" gem.

I must admit that this song never registered positively with me until I had read the previous comments and decided to go back and play it a few times. The easy laid back approach which he excelled and the structure and melody of the song has now really grown on me.

Definately like this song, along with a few others from the spotty and underappreciated "Love Letters from Elvis" album.

Great record as is the whole album it was taken from.

I must admit that even if LLFE was not up to par with the previous two albums, I still like it! And I prefer his ballad singing when his voice was in control. If I were You and I'll Never Know flows nicely with me. I even like This Is Our Dance which surprisingly hit well with some of my female friends who are into that kind of balladeering. The only song on this album that I don't prefer too much is the version of Love Letters. Here his vocal is more strained than on the beautiful 1966 delivery! And of course the Mojo jam was and still is a cracker!

I enjoy the hell outta the whole Love Letters album, even though it seems to be held in lower regard than many other of the 70s albums. It's an interesting thing to start collecting Elvis after he died, and therefore get the albums totally out of chronological order. I got this album in the midst of picking up a couple of lesser soundtrack albums, so this album seemed like quite a masterpiece to me at the time. This track in particular seemed pretty good, but not great. As I have gotten older, the song has grown on me and, sadly, this could almost be my theme song at the moment (I could have sung this to the girl I had coffee with last night.) Part of the longevity of Elvis is that he recorded so much and so much of it really was excellent, that there really is a track for every mood and feeling.

Good ballad, well sung, and it flows along nicely. I know I sound like a broken record, but I much prefer Elvis as a balladeer when the songs are like this and not over blown, over produced songs like My Boy, etc.

A subdued ballad from the "Love Letters..." LP. It is a lot like the album, good; but not great. While this album was a poor follow-up to "That's The Way It Is" and "Elvis Country", I still enjoy listening to all of the songs on it except for "Cindy, Cindy".

Good song from a mostly so-so LP. Nice performance.
