I will be home again
Don't worry dear
I'll be home again
So won't you dry the tear
The promise in your eyes
Will see me through
There'll be brighter skies
When I come back to you

A-a-ah sweetheart
The love you're giving
Thrills my hungry heart
You make my life worth the living
Although we are apart
I will be home again
We'll start anew
Darling until then
Our dreams will have to do

A-a-ah sweetheart
The love you're giving
Thrills my hungry heart
You make my life worth the living
Although we are apart
I will be home again
We'll start anew
Darling until then
Our dreams will have to do
Recorded: 1960/04/03, first released on Elvis Is Back

"I'll Be Home Again" is a beautiful tune sung fantastically by "The King". Elvis and Charlie Hodge singing harmony is pure heaven and they hold their own against any harmonizing the Beatles or the Everly Brothers ever did.

A decent recording but one of the weakest from the 'Elvis is back!' recording sessions. Charlie Hodge singing along is rarely a pleasure and this is no exception. Three stars from me.

Easily (in my opinion) the worst track on the "Elvis Is Back" LP. This duet with Charlie Hodge isn't bad, and I would give it three stars; but it is a little out of place on the LP. When this is the worst song on an album, you know the rest of the album is outstanding and EIB ranks as one of his top five LP's. (Not counting golden records complilations or seasonal / gospel releases, I put it 4th behind "From Elvis In Memphis", "That's The Way It Is" and "Elvis Country". In 5th place, I would go with "Elvis Presley").

great song showing what Elvis could do with his voice anyone saying that they don't like this song or skipping this song is really beyond me

I always found this song to slow the great EIB LP down. It just isn't up to the standards of the rest of the LP. Sometimes a skip. Gotta be in the mood for it.

Decent song on Elvis Is Back. Nicely sung, but nothing special. I don't skip this one, but i always skip Girl Next Door Went A Walking.
