I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here

Rating:
4.0 / 5

Words & Music: Don Robertson Hal Blair

No-one's in a hurry
No-one seems to worry
Why they're all so happy is very clear
Every day siesta, every night fiesta
I think I'm gonna like it here

All this lovely scenery
There's more to it than greenery
I know a chance for romance is always near
Mission bells are ringing, everybody's singing
I think I'm gonna like it hear

The sound of laughter from every doorway
Sweet music floating across the square
It seems to say things are going better
Your troubles like bubbles will soon disappear in the air

Down to my last peso, but I'm not afraid to say so
I feel just like a brave, Spanish cavalier
I don't care where we go, so lead on" mi amigo"
I think I'm gonna like it here

Melodias.....lapieras

Your troubles like bubbles will soon disappear in the air

Down to my last peso, but I'm not afraid to say so
I feel just like a brave, Spanish cavalier
I don't care where we go, so lead on" mi amigo"
I think I'm gonna like it here

I think I'm gonna like it here
I think I'm gonna like it here

I think I'm gonna like it here.

Another breezy, yet perfectly sung song from the movie "Fun In Acapulco". This one is fun in the movie and pleasant to listen to on the soundtrack LP. Good movie, good soundtrack. 3 1/2 stars.

I don't think Elvis ever recorded a bad Don Robertson song. This one moves along nicely and brings back memories of long gone summer days.

Even with lines like "I'm down to my last peso, but not afraid to say so" the song isn't so bad.

I am another fan of the Fun in Acapulco soundtrack, as much for the content butalso for being different with its Mexican-Spanish influence. This number glides smoothly and pleasantly along and gives one a good feel factor.

This is such a marvelous and fun song and it's one of 14 songs that Elvis recorded that was written by Don Robertson. I've always been such a big fan of the "Fun In Acapulco" movie and soundtrack.

The trumpets make this song sound different, but it's still not a great track.

To me, one of the standout tracks on a pleasant soundtrack album overall.

I liked Fun in A. a good film with some good songs.A very pleasant summery sound, which brings back a few memories of growing up in the 1960s. I think Don Robertson wrote some good songs in his life time, a mere handful reaching Elvis, which was a pity as he was a far better songwriter than he got credit for. Certainly better than the Randy Starr's of the world.

All in all, a better soundtrack than even Blue Hawaii. (Can't Help Falling In Love notwithstanding) and this song is one of the standouts. The sound, songs and performances are top notch on Fun In Acapulco, and the movie ain't too shabby either. Imagine the album that would be if Elvis never made movies, but the best songs of Blue Hawaii, Fun In Acapulco and Girls, Girls, Girls made up a great studio album!
