Love this heartfelt song, and loved the album too, and it beats any Tom jones album thats for sure !!
Loving You was not the greatest of albums (one of the greatest in history is my laugh for the day) , but this is a great track. So much better than most anything on any 1962-68 LPs. Elvis really did Ivroy Joe Hunter songs well.
One of my all time favorite songs from my all time favorite album, the soundtrack from "Loving You" with the flip side consisting of great ballads. I could never understand why RCA never included "Is It So Strange" on the B-side of this album also. It was on the extended play 45 RPM, "Just For You", which like a few of the comments listed by others, is how I first came to discover this tune as I couldn't afford an album at my than youthful age. Great song! Great album!
Without a doubt, this one and others like "Is it so Strange" are some of the best songs, ever recorded by anyone !
This is such a sensational, overlooked and underrated ballad and Elvis' rendition of it was stellar. I love every song from the "Loving You" soundtrack album.
Easily the best song on the Just For You EP or extra songs added to the Loving You album tracks. He really pours his heart and soul into this one resulting in a mini masterpiece.
To me it's definitely one of the underrated gems from the 50s. I also like the other Ivory Joe Hunter songs sung by Elvis (especially "It's still here" and "I will be true").
"Loving You" is one of the greatest albums in history and this song is one of the reasons why.

This is one of my all-time favorites from 1957. I had it initially on the Just For You extended play 45 RPM record and later on my first Elvis long playing album Loving You. His extended play 45 RPM records were all a 12 year old could afford back then at $1.29 or $1.49 each plus tax and that was a lot. I rate this song an easy 5-stars.
The five bonus songs on the "Loving You" LP were hit and miss and this one is easily the best of the five. A 50's track that along with "One Sided Love Affair", "Is It So Strange" and "Playing For Keeps" (among others), qualifies as an overlooked gem.
really love this song, i did send the song to a girlfriend of mine. we had an argument after she heard the song. all was ok between us again,because i told her I Need You so. Great song, lot's of power in this song I LOVE IT

The fifties were my favourite Elvis period. I remember buying the EP but not liking this song. I played it recently and changed my mind about it. A great song re discovered.

This was my favorite song on the Just For You EP. I didnt have an LP player in 1957 so I only knew it from that 45 RPM. Its still my favorite non-soundtrack song on the Loving You LP. Underrated and should be more known.
I remember being very happy to find this gem on the B-side of the Loving You-soundtrack LP. Truly underrrated. These were the first bonus-tacks on a Presley-movie product so far...With the difference that the original movie tracks also were on par with them.
Here the young Elvis bursts out in such a sweet and tender love song in which he drives home an urgent need. And he is doing it so compelling that it draws you into the feeling. Top beyond any doubt.
One of my all time favourites Elvis ballads. The innocence that the Kings puts in his voice and the nostalgic way he sings the 3Th verse almost convince me that he truly is perpetually in love...

This is one of those take it or leave it songs for me. Depends on the mood I'm in.
I re-discovered this song late last light on random play on my ipod and had to leave a comment on here. Elvis is in wonderful voice - not a classic but still a very likeable and under-rated track.
