I Don't Want To

Rating:
3.4 / 5

Words & Music: Janice Tarre Fred Spielman

I don't want to, I don't want to
I don't want to let you know how much I want you
Don't come near me, I don't trust you
I don't trust the way you thrill me when I touch you

I was happy free and easy, I could go around
And do the things that please me
I don't want to get tied down with a girl like you
I don't want to ... love you, but I do

I was happy free and easy, I could go around
And do the things that please me
I don't want to get tied down with a girl like you
I don't want to ... love you, but I do
I don't want to love you, but I do

Very bland & boring song. Elvis in great voice and once again being wasted on subpar material.

Another ballad recorded for, but not included in the movie "Girls! Girls! Girls!". This one is vastly superior to the the other ballad ("Where Do You Come From") that was was left out of the movie and included on the soundtrack LP. I find nothing bland or boring about this song. A real beauty.

Far from bland & boring, Its a lovely ballad sung beautifully by Elvis.

Compare this to his great ballads like Dont, Playing For Keeps, Love me, Is It So Strange, THrill Of Your Love, CHFIL, etc. It certainly is bland and lacking oopmh! Would anyone listen to this song by another singer? Doubt it. Just another soundtrack ballad. You could number them and not know the difference.

No need to compare the song, Just enjoy it. Obviously some songs, will be better than others, but this song is far from bland.

I like the rock and roller, the gospel singer and so forth and I like the balladeer that is Elvis. This is a real nice song with an engaging tune that is brilliantly sung by Elvis. Yes another film ballad but not fluff, and I thoroughly enjoy it

Never actually appeared in the movie but was included on the album "Girls! Girls! Girls!" Bland but acceptable tune, especially compared to the "Song of the Shrimp" from the same album; now there's the song that should have been kept out of the actual movie.

Better than some soundtrack recordings, you know the ones I mean.

Everyone has there own taste when it comes to the vast catalogue of Elvis’ music. To many if it’s from a soundtrack it’s bland, boring, fluff, trash or garbage. I would prefer this delightful song over Playing for keeps or Love me. But that’s me and that’s okay. Someone once said when it comes to Elvis, there’s something for everyone. Girls Girls Girls is definitely not my favourite soundtrack but it’s still mostly enjoyable and this track is beautifully sung.
