I don't want my heart to be broken
Cause it's the only one I've got
So darling please be careful
You know I care a lot
Darling please don't break my heart
I beg of you

I don't want no tears a-falling
You know I hate to cry
But that's what's bound to happen
I you only say goodbye
Darling please don't say goodbye
I beg of you

Hold my hand and promise
That you'll always love me true
Make me know you'll love me
The same way I love you little girl

You got me at your mercy
Now that I'm in love with you
So please don't take advantage
Cause you know my love is true
Darling please please love me too
I beg of you

Hold my hand and promise
That you'll always love me true
Make me know you'll love me
The same way I love you little girl

You got me at your mercy
Now that I'm in love with you
So please don't take advantage
Cause you know my love is true
Darling please please love me too
I beg of you

Greatly over looked, but really a classic rocker. Could have been a #1 in it's own right if not over shadowed by it's awesome "A" side, "Don't".

Very similar to "All Shook Up" sound wise and arrangement wise. The alternate takes of this song suck big time to be blunt. No wonder it took him 34 takes to get it right.

Looking at the lyrics, it shows that this song was written by two women. Nevertheless (I'm joking), it's a great song.

This is a great song that no one knows except Elvis fans and that is a pity. Same goes for Don't. A great A&B sided single that seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle ove the years. I blame part of this on Elvis who refused to dip into his back catalog during the concert years.

This is such a fantastic and fun song and it rightfully was a top ten hit for Elvis here in the United States back in 1957. With that said, this song should definitely be far better known than it actually is. This is one masterpiece of a record for sure. I rate this song and all of Elvis' versions of it 5 Stars.

Always one of my faves... he did have the most extraordinary voice... when he sings the long 'hold' the second time, he sounds like a human saxaphone!

This song, good as it is never receives the expected recognised approval, which I think is somewhat due to so much fantastic material emanating from Elvis at this time, of which much was a tad superior to this number. Made the US top ten in its own right as a 'B' side to Don't, but never seems to be on any hit collections, and as a result becomes even less well known.

back in the 50's you buy an elvis single the b side was just as good. elvis was on top form. this great b side from don't is a great song. the alternate take found on the 50's masters is fab too equally as good.

A top 10 that often gets forgotten when listing Elvis' big hits, but don't let that fool you. This is one masterpiece of a record. Pefect blending of the Jordinaires and Elvis with Elvis on full throttle on the chorus. Great phrasing by Elvis and a superb choice as the flipside to the classic ballad "Don't". Record buyers in 1958 got a perfect Elvis single with this one.

Not a song thats very well know, but I like it. Very Elvis-y. I like the master, not the alternate takes.
