He Is My Everything

Rating:
3.5 / 5

Words & Music: Dallas Frazier

I long to be His possession
Oh, He is my everything
I remember my days of darkness
Without sunshine or sight to lead the way
But a whisper of His voice softly calling
To the arms of my Maker to stay

He is my reason for living,
Oh He is the king of all kings
I long to be His possession,
Oh, He is my everything

After the lighting and thunder
After the last bell has rung
I want to bow down before Him
And hear Him say well done

He is my reason for living
Oh He is the king of all kings
I long to be His possession
Oh, He is my everything

Gospelversion of She is my everything. Or is it the otherway around? Anyway I like it!

Im sure ELvis could have chosen another gospel songs rather than a re-write of There Goes My Everything. This just doesnt wok for me at all. Waste of vinyl.

by far not as strong as There goes my everything. Elvis sounds a bit tired

Stronger vocals than on "there goes my everything" not tired at all. Good piano also.4 stars.

I always liked this one. Not one of his very best sacred tracks, but a nice edition to the LP "He Touched Me". Dallas Frazier did a good job of converting the lyrics from one about lost love into a gospel/sacred song. The sequel is normally not as good as the original and in this case that holds true. "There Goes My Everything" is a 4 1/2 star to 5 star track. This one is a 3 1/2 to 4 star track.

First he recorded There Goes My Everything. I am not really fond about this diddy. I hardly ever listen to it. At the time it was released it was on vinyl, so in order not to damage the album I sort of listened to it. It became worse when he recorded this 'he is my everything', a song I never listened to after the first time I heard it. Well that says it all.

This is such a beautiful song and it's easily one of my most favorite gospel songs.

Elvis seems to sing it with more conviction then the secular version. He always had his heart more at gospel then anything else.

Nothing wrong with the performance at all, which is very good indeed, but I just have a problem getting my head around the fact that this is not There Goes My Everything, which is what I revert back to each time I hear this song.

Try this again. Seems this site froze up. When I first heard this song I thought, this sounds very, very familiar and lo and behold I was correct. Try "There Goes My Everything"; like what gives, why a title change? Not a bad tune, but really...

My least favorite track on the "He Touched Me" LP. They couldn't find anything better? 2 stars.

With all the gospel songs in the world a re-write of There Goes My Everything never made sense to me. Oh Happy Day, Touch The Hem of His Garment, Jesus Bring Me Water, I'm On My Way, and on and on and on. All tailor made for Elvis. So many he could have chosen. Awful choice and song.
