For the Good Times

Words & Music:
Kris KristoffersonDon't look so sad, I know it's over
But life goes on and this old world will keep on turning
Let's just be glad we had some time to spend together
There's no need o watch the bridges that we're burning
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
Hear the whisper of the raindrops fallin' soft against the window
And make believe you love me one more time
For the Good times
I'll get along, you'll find another
And I'll be here if you should find you ever need me
Don't say a word about tomorrow or forever
There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me
Lay your head upon my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
Hear the whisper of the raindrops fallin' soft against the window
And make believe you love me one more time

Beautiful song. Heartfelt. Elvis' voice is sublime.
I always liked the MSG version that first came out; but I think I might like the studio version that came out years later a little better. Either way, it is a well-written song that Elvis sings superbly. 4 stars.
A much covered Kris Kristofferson song. I don't think that Elvis' version added anything to the song which I have always thought a bit of a dirge.
One of the best Adult Contemporary songs for Elvis in the 70's.
I have always liked the song. And when I first heard Elvis' Garden version I liked it even more. I like the studio version he made also! Good song, good performance by Elvis. Would have liked James' guitar solo on the studio version also!
A good Kristofferson tune. Laid back version,reflective...relax and enjoy.
