Elvis never sang this song, so it shouldn't even be on the Elvis song list.

Just like "Poor Man's Gold", I feel Elvis made the absolute RIGHT choice when he did not record this. You can find links on YouTube to a guy named Terry Mike Jefferey singing the song. It isn't good. Similar bass to "Burning Love", but terrible lyrics. "Way Down" is vastly superior (and I don't love "Way Down"). Right until the end, I feel Elvis chose his material well at least 90% of the time (not including the movie years when he was trapped). There are a lot of songs I wish Elvis had done versions of, but this is definitely not on that list.

I don't care that he never recorded this song. I never heard this one, so I don't miss it. Moreover it should not be on this list either. Apart from that, I feel Elvis cared about his fans and at the same time at a certain point luckily he sort of decided to do it his way too. Why not. That said, if it was for me he never had recorded hey jude too, but he did. Why not give him that freedom? If this would have been a second like . . . then I am all the more happy that he did not record it. A clone of other songs does not make any sense to me either.

I listened to this song and I have to respectively and strongly disagree with the previous comments. The only way this song is "Burning Love, 2" is in the same way "Paradise, Hawaiian Style" is "Blue Hawaii, 2". It does have a nice driving rhythm, but vastly inferior lyrics. Perhaps, it came down to this one or "Way Down". If it did, Elvis made the right choice and yes he could still rock as well as anyone in '76 and yes he did care for his fans and not choosing to sing a particular song should not be held as an indictment against him. Jeez people! He gave us a ton of great music to enjoy. Show me another entertainer who not only would allow people to hang out at his front gate, but also many times stop and talk to them. Did what he wanted? He kept making movies in the 60's because his fans kept going to them. When fans started to grow disinterested, he quit doing them.

Elvis didn't record a vocal because he wasn't interested in doing so. If he had, it's doubtful the song would have been a big hit. Certainly NOT the second coming of Burning Love. We're talking Elvis circa '76, people.

Listening to it by Big Fat Snake and sure could have been a great release. I have been an avid fan for over 50 years and I have come to the conclusion Elvis did not care for his fans any more than any other entertainer. lived in his own bubble, and did just what he wanted. Does not bother me at all and I can see why recording this number did not matter to him.

I heard the song. Could have been the second coming of 'Burning Love' (sigh)
