Words & Music: Giant/ Baum/ Kaye
I walk along a thin line darling
Dark shadows follow me
Here's where life's dream lies disillusioned
The edge of reality

Oh I can hear strange voices echo
Laughing with mockery
The border line of doom I'm facing
The edge of reality

On the edge of reality she sits there tormenting me
The girl with the nameless face
On the edge of reality where she overpowers me
With fears that I can't explain
She drove me to the point of madness
The brink of misery
If she's not real then I'm condemned to
The edge of reality

On the edge of reality she sits there tormenting me
The girl with the nameless face
On the edge of reality where she overpowers me
With fears that I can't explain
She drove me to the point of madness
The brink of misery
If she's not real then I'm condemned to
The edge of reality

Reality, reality, reality, reality,
Reality, reality, reality, reality
Recorded: 1968/03/07, first released on single

"Edge of Reality" was a fantastic song and unlike anything "The King" ever did. I agree it could have been a theme song for a Bond movie. Maybe, it still will one day.

This is a bit of a weird song with a great sound that fitted well within the late 60s culture with strong delivery from our man. Given how poor movie songs were in 1965-1967, this was a breeze of fresh air. This should have been an A-side. Four stars from me.

Great song from a great soundtrack and a really enjoyable movie. Sure i read somebody say that this would have made a great James Bond movie theme song. I agree.

Best movie song since Viva and one of the best ever. Turns out this movie had 2 gems, ALLC and this one. Wonderful World is good also. All along the movies should have had an EPs worth of good songs instead of an LPs worth of mostly bad. As Elvis once said, you record 13 songs for a movie they cant all be good.

finely after years of dreadful movie songs and not since viva las vegas we get a song.this should have been an A side
and a hit.i still think it's the lesser known songs that should be revamped like bossa nova baby which i thought was brilliantly done.that i think is the only way forward, you can't tread water forever you have to move on.

Love this song !! Should have been a big on the charts. I believe it was the "B" side to the "If I can dream" single. Both sides should have charted higher. But nonetheless, Elvis was on the "comeback Trail' and more great records were to come.

Finally an Elvis movie song in step with the times. Great 1968 sound on this one with clever lyrics and Elvis sings the hell out of it. 5 stars. Great record. Movie was an improvement also. Can we get this re-released?

All of the songs from the "Live A Little, Love A Little" soundtrack are a major improvement over Elvis' soundtrack recordings from 1964-1967. This one is unique and a little "weird", but very well sung and with production values worthy of Elvis' talent. The dream sequence in the movie where this song is used is enjoyable and fits in with the story well. Overall, the movie is enjoyable although it suffers from poor editing and direction. Elvis does a very good job acting in this one and Michelle Carey looks simply amazing!

For me this is one of the many songs nobody could interpret better. He should have done an album with songs like that.
When I here it I feel like being in a strange but wunderful dream...

Ive always liked this really cool song! Even the odd "dream" sequence in the movie when its sung, goes well for the time!

Unfortunately Elvis' movie tracks weren't taken seriously anymore at the time this great track was recorded. In my opinion this one belongs to his best movie tracks.
