Beyond the Reef

Words & Music:
J. PitmanBeyond the reef where the sea is dark and cold
My love has gone from me and my dreams grow cold
There'll be no tears, there'll be no regretting
Will she remember me, will she forget?
I'll send a thousand flowers
Where the trade winds blow
I'll send my lonely heart for I love her so
Some day I know, she'll come back again to me
Till then my heart will be beyond the reef
I'll send a thousand flowers
Where the trade winds blow
I'll send my lonely heart for I love her so
Some day I know, she'll come back again to me
Till then my heart will be beyond the reef
Till then my heart will be beyond the reef Recorded:

He already did this in 1960 in Hollywood. The 1966 version had Elvis on piano, Bob Moore on bass and Pete Drake on steel. Red West, Charlie Hodge en Elvis did the vocals. He probably took it from the version by Andy Williams. A lovely song, well sung by all three of them.
Not bad, but you can hardly hear Elvis. When it was revealed they had found this new song in 1980 I was so excited, then so let down.
