Our man could sure put plenty of meaning into a ballad, with that rich tenor come baritone voice - yes I like this one - 4 stars from me
An occasional listener might think Elvis is going to sing Are you lonesome tonight when he starts to sing are you.... sincere. I like the song, but it sounds Elvis didn't have his heart in it.
I've never liked Elvis' version of this song. I've always found Elvis' version to be boring and plain. The only version of this song that I've ever heard that I like is Andy Williams' hit version.
This is a pretty ballad with nice spoken part. Don't like the ending with the voices though and not the top material that he should have been given in 1973, when he was the superstar in the world, confirmed with the massive success of Aloha from Hawaii in that same year. Three stars from me.
This song stinks, NOT! ELVIS was at the top of his game on this gem.
I like it, like a lot of songs on this album. His voice here sounds so good, also on the other ballads. 4 stars
not really a good song, and sung a bit unspired.
If Elvis wanted to revive old songs for an LP titled Raised On Rock, why couldnt it have been an old rock song? Make sense? I guess he wasn't into it. This is good but nothing to turn on a new generation of fans. Kind of old fashioned & stale for 1973.
Fair song sung well almost in his old style,but the LP was pretty poor.I think he was getting bored with the songs that were given to him.I think he had lost his way by this time,not entirely his own fault.

Elvis does a great version of this old ballad and it was the 2nd song on the LP "Raised On Rock" (1973) after the title song. The "Our Memories Of Elvis" version is a little bit better, but both the original and the undubbed version are 4 star tracks.
The best version was on the Our memories of Elvis album,no overdubbing.The spoken part makes the song.
