Elvis performed at the Mid-South Coliseum, Memphis, Tennessee at 2.30 and 8.30 p.m.
This was Elvis' first appearance in his hometown since 1961 and the 4 shows that were initially booked, were sold out immediately. So the Colonel added a fifth one, which were the perfect occasion for a live homecoming album and so the perfect way to avoid having to coax Elvis back into the studio. Elvis seemed both happy and mildly amused to be there and he declared: "Hello Memphis. It's good to be home".
