Elvis arrived in Shreveport at 5.00 a.m. and checked into the Captain Shreve Hotel. He performed at the Louisiana Hayride, Hirsch Youth Center, Louisianan Fairgrounds, Shreveport. The performance was attended by Hal Kanter, director of Elvis' upcoming film. After watching the show Hal Kanter even altered something at the screenplay: the story of the rise of a young singer, who very much resembled Elvis Presley.
