The Night Elvis Sang When The Snow Is On The Roses

April 23, 2004 | Music
Another show from Elvis' Las Vegas engagement has been released, this time on the Dr. Pepper label. It is the midnight show of August 24, 1970, which is known for the song that gave this CD its extremely long title.

Design

This CD carries one of the most disgusting covers we ever saw, taste differs, but we can't imagine anyone likes this one, except the producer probably.

Content

We can't tell you much about it, since we switched it off after an enormous tapedisortion in the second song. The soundquality is very poor, even for an audience recording. With so many listenable shows from this engagement, we can live without this one. The song that made this show special and gave it its title has been released on "Live In Las Vegas" in better quality, so that is also no reason to buy this rubbish.

Conclusion

Dr. Pepper should stay in the drink-business only, and never ever again interfere in producing CD's. We advise you to keep this one on a respectable distance, unless your one of those poor souls (like we are) that want to have everything, or should we say anything with Elvis on it, on the shelves.

I don't know about the content but the cover design looks great to me (some great stills of our man) . What is so disgusting about it?

Thanks ElvisNews for so much honesty! Too often one reads only good things about "anything" with 'Elvis' on the cover. This kind of reviews saves me money! I'll think I have a real Coca Cola instead ;-)
