On Stage - The Ultimate Edition

In September Backdraft released one of the best boxsets ever, Rebooked At The International. For obvious reasons that release was a complete sell out within days. Now Backdraft released On Stage – The Ultimate Editon, for those that missed the full boxset.

Design

The release is presented as most bootlegs are nowadays… top notch! The 12 page booklet contains the best pictures that were included in the book coming with the boxset. It could hardly be better. The CDR for in the car looks better than the CD, but who cares? It’ll be in the player most of the time. It is a nice gesture, by the way, to add a CDR for in the car.

Content

The released saved me the time to put together the best content of the boxset on a single disc for car usage. The rough Felton Jarvis Mix, or Felton Jarvis’ rough mix is the opening of the CD. The remaining space is filled with parts of the dinner shows of February 18 and 19.

The only minor I can find is that the CD ends with See See Rider, So if you have it on repeat, like I did, you get that song twice in a row.

Conclusion

If you have the boxset, this CD isn’t really a must, but still I enjoyed it very much and the extra copy is in the car indeed.

Fantastic, and 2 CD's for the price of one. Still has some of the best photos from the Rebooked set.

I think Backdraft play this brilliantly, no press release,no little snippets via youtube, just 'Bang' all of a sudden it was out and what a package it was.........thanks Backdraft can't wait for your next project soon?. Also a nice gesture to re-press the cd when the single disc was released with a cdr in the digi-pack instead of a factory pressed one.........it's the little gestures that will guarantee future projects from you will go down well with the fans.

Shame they didnt include the unreleased version of "release me" from box as well.....if they had I would buy this,boxset was way to expensive IMO.....but yes it was great.

NorwayElvis, not sure why you though the box-set was a little expensive? ( iyo ), 4 cd's and a 100 page hardback book for me was a worthwhile investment when you consider what each cd had to offer and the sort of prices we have been expected to pay for certain other books?...... JAT comes to mind.However appreciate your comment's as usual, guess you won't be getting Backdraftt's next cd/book in 2012 then?.

drjohncarpenter0117, I dont buy books....sure many of them are nice but im not a collector and I see no point of getting stuff just for the shelf.10 unreleased live versions of well known performances that is in many cases with very little variations on a 4 cd box with book....no thanks. Audio cds with .....for me....great unreleased stuff is worth the money like Promised land_FTD......this release I will play a lot the rest of this year and sure from time to time in the coming years as well. I will most likely not getting the next Backdraft cd/book......unless the cds have something really great and unreleased.
