ELV1S 30 #1 Hits Preview

Aug 28, 2002
In Germany and Austria two magazines contained previews of the ELV1S 30 #1 Hits. They mixed the original and restored versions of 'Suspicious Minds" and 'Burning Love'. We listened to the preview from News magazine.

When this preview is representative for what we can expect we're in for a treat. The songs sound more powerful than before and you can clearly hear all instruments. Listening to the promo CD you hear the differences clearly since they mixed both the original and 'restored' mix. It sounds like the DJ is playing with the volumes. Talking about the DJ, he was the one thing they could have skipped on this promo. Although he is very enthusiastic, his English isn’t too good, and he mingles it through his German. His explanation could have been added to the booklet or magazine.

The promo also contains a lot of extras on the CD-Rom part. Like a lot of facts, a quiz, a photo gallery with sixty pictures, mostly from EPE (even two taken from the EPE site) and a few from the www we guess. The disc also contains a nice screensaver.

The one thing we do wonder about is why they added the new edition of 'Burning Love' completely for free with the magazine when that track is the new single ... If only the new single was a complete package as this is.
